Pokorný, Wagner & Partners has provided complex legal assistance on the divestment of 44% share in Czech airlines

On 10 April 2013 the agreement on the sale and purchase of 44% share in České aerolinie a.s. was signed between Český Aeroholding and Korean Air Lines in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Mr. Petr Nečas, and the Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic, Mr. Miroslav Kalousek. Pokorný, Wagner & Partners has provided complex legal assistance within this transaction and thus participated in the process of entering of the strategic partner into České aerolinie. Before the transaction documentation was signed, several months of negotiating the terms and conditions had taken place. During these negotiations the M&A team of Pokorný, Wagner & partners led by David Skopal took active part.

Český Aeroholding is a holding company which unites České aerolinie and also other companies operating in the area of air carriage and in the field of relating land-based services. Among its subsidiaries belong, inter alia, Letiště Praha – operator of the international Václav Havel Airport Prague, Czech Airlines Technics providing its services in the field of technical maintenance of aircrafts, Czech Airlines Handling securing the land check-in of customers and aircrafts. Český Aeroholding and its subsidiaries employ about 5 thousand people.

Korean Air Lines belongs to twenty biggest airlines in the world, owning 146 aircrafts (including 6 Airbus planes A380) and realizing about 415 flights into 124 cities in 43 countries all over the world on the daily basis. Korean Air Lines employs almost 21 thousand people and transports more than 23 million customers a year.
